| kick08.net kick08.net is a football blog by Christoph Weiermair, me and several other passionate football bloggers that focuses on the upcoming European Championships in Austria and Switzerland in June 2008. Through the well-known mixture of topicality, irony, variety and information of previous journalistic projects of the authors, it aims at becoming an outstanding football blog worth reading for fans and other interested people. |
| kick08.net EM-Studio @ Radio B138 As part of kick08.net, Christoph Weiermair and me are currently hosting a monthly radio show at the local radio station Radio B138 (radio-b138.at). There, we primarily discuss topics related to football and the upcoming European Championships, give an insight into our blog kick08.net and play some alternative music. |
Prospective projects

| Austrian Biotech Clippings (abc) The Austrian Biotech Clippings will cover the aspiring Austrian biotechnology industry from a business perspective, including news and advances in the financing, management, scientific ambitions and other aspects of the domestic biotech companies as well as important international developments that are of interest to the domestic sector. As there is no central source of information on current developments of the domestic biotech industry, there should be enough potential to establish an independent and informative news portal. Unfortunately, there is currently a lack of spare time for a successful implementation of this project. |
| radio LAN @ Radio B138 radio LAN is the title of a prospective radio show on a local independent radio station from Upper Austria called Radio B138 where I would like to broadcast directly from Vienna together with a guest from my home region, the so-called Kremstal in the south of Upper Austria. The show should be a mixture of listening to alternative and indie music from the 60's until now and talking with a guest who - as well as the related topics - changes each show. |
Past projects | LAN // Der Blog LAN // Der Blog was my personal blog where I commented on selected topics primarily from everyday life, football and politics. Started in spring 2007, the blog enjoyed great popularity among its small circle of loyal readers. Moreover, it continuously attracted new readers and has been published several times in a nationwide newspaper. |
| vote06 vote06 was a blog by Christoph Weiermair and me dedicated to the Austrian elections in 2006. In the course of vote 06, we accompanied, analyzed and commentated the election campaign over 71 days. The coverage included 170 postings which were read by more than 7,500 visitors (100-400 daily visitors). Moreover, extracts of our comments were published or cited in various local and nationwide newspapers as well as in well-known online media. |
| Economic Knowledge and Success Forum The Economic Knowledge and Success Forum (EKSF) was a students' organization of Barbara Wolf, Valentin Iliev, Guenther Poettler, Juergen Steinmaurer, Martin Derfeser and me that aimed at deepening their members' knowledge in the areas of finance and management. Moreover, we visited several renowned events such as the Finance Foundation Conference in Venice, The Swiss Treasury Forum in Zurich or the Globalization Symposium in Vienna. |
| SV Austria Salzburg Supporters club Chaos Crew The Chaos Crew is a supporters club of the football club SV Austria Salzburg which was newly founded by football fans after their original club was taken over by an energy drink company. I was one of the foundersand responsible for organizational issues and press relations. | | Initiative Violett-Weiss The Initiative Violett-Weiss (Iniative Violet-White) was an Austrian-wide association of football fans of SV Austria Salzburg which aimed at supporting a violet-white football team after their club was taken over, renamed and rebranded by an energy drink company. Despite a huge national and international media coverage as well as solidarity of many football supporters around the world, the negotiations with the club's new owner failed and therefore a new club SV Austria Salzburg was founded in the seventh division where it became champion at first go. In the project team, I mainly worked in the areas of press relations, homepage and research. |
| 2002.kommentiert 2002.kommentiert, the second journalistic project of Christoph Weiermair and me, provided weekly comments on various topics from politics to sports. Moreover, during the course of the project, we had the unique opportunity to present our texts at a reading of a local literature organization and several regional newspapers reported on the project. |
| Essays 2001 In the first journalistic project of Christoph Weiermair and me, we wrote weekly essays about topics from the areas of politics, business, sports, culture, and society which were published on a webpage and as a comprehensive compendium at the end of the year.
